Face to Face With Commendable Communicators: Lisa Janak-Newman, Georgia Emergency Management Agency

In this episode of the "Face to Face with Commendable Communicators" podcast, video podcast, I talk with Lisa Janak-Newman of the Georgia Emergency Management Agency (GEMA).

Working with Georgia Public Health, Lisa and her team created the "Ready Georgia" app to help Georgians be better prepared for emergencies. The app has some great features and was recently updated to do even more, including help citizens immediately locate emergency shelters.

In this interview, Lisa walks us through the app and talks about the teamwork it took to create the app using an outside vendor.

In the comments below, I'd love to hear your thoughts on this kind of app. Have you developed one for your region, or have you thought about it? What were the biggest challenges you have experienced in the process? Please leave your comments!
